JotSpot Launches Wiki Applications

Pre-Packaged Vertical Applications Let Groups Get Right to Work

PALO ALTO, Calif., March 6 /PRNewswire/ — JotSpot today introduced its wiki application strategy and launched its first two wiki applications, JotSpot Class Reunion Planner and JotSpot Bug Reporter. JotSpot’s wiki applications will be highlighted throughout 2006 as the company continues to roll out pre-packaged wiki applications targeted at specific uses. These simple Web-based applications are built on top of the JotSpot wiki platform and are pre-populated with all the relevant data and functionality required for their focus. Class Reunion Planner and Bug Reporter are available immediately at http://www.jot.com.

“People look to software to solve a specific problem and want to get right to work,” said Scott Johnston, director of Wiki Applications. “Software shouldn’t force them to learn new tools or figure out how to configure a generic platform to do something specific. Our wiki platform lets us tailor a set of services directly at specific use cases and our vertical strategy will allow us to offer unique groups their own unique applications.”

Each vertical wiki application will have similar characteristics:

* Easy-to-use — No need to learn another tool, applications will be useful right out of the box
* Specific — Applications will solve specific problems, not be generic tools that require configuration
* Affordable — Low cost solutions to your problems
* Accessible — No install required, browser based applications
* Secure — Access is user-controlled and is only open to those invited

“We spent the last year learning about how people want to use a wiki,” said Joe Kraus, CEO, JotSpot. “While some want a blank slate, others want very specific applications that have unique functionality. We want to respond to our customers desire to use tools that are targeted directly at what they are trying to accomplish.”

CLASS REUNION PLANNER
The first of the two vertical wiki applications available is the JotSpot Class Reunion Planner. Class reunions, an increasingly popular get-together, are often planned by long strings of emails and information housed on one central person’s computer. The pre-packaged wiki application focuses on collaboration, letting users bring their class together by posting photos, telling stories and planning their actual reunion together, letting the reunion start long before the actual date. Like the wiki, it is simple to create and edit your own pages using an easy to use browser-based editor. The pre-packaged application also offers maps, a blog, and information gathered
from around the web, like gas prices and movies from your graduation year. The site is available long after the reunion is over so classmates can continue to keep in touch.

BUG REPORTER
The second vertical wiki application to be offered, JotSpot Bug Reporter, offers software teams affordable, secure bug tracking with no setup required. This mission-critical task is often left until the end when teams are working against tight deadlines. Bug Reporter lets you quickly customize the application to support a team’s unique process, manage bugs and associated tasks, assign bug fixes to different team members and monitor progress both with charts and lists.

AVAILABILITY
JotSpot’s growing suite of vertical wiki applications is available immediately at http://www.jot.com. The Reunion Planner application is available for $39.95 per year and the Bug Reporter application is available for $49.95 per month.
